Rilievo

A flat picture carries no depth. What it carries are the habits of light and lenses that a viewer reads without noticing — and those can be measured.

Rilievo measures four of them: where a thing sits in the frame, how it is lit, how much colour the air has taken from it, and how sharply the lens held it. The four are mixed into a relief, and every pixel of the picture is lifted off its plane into a point you can turn. The mix is drawn from the pixels themselves, so a given photograph always yields the same reading — until you ask for another.

None of this is correct depth; a single frame cannot supply it. Turn far enough and the surface tears open where the picture had nothing to say about what stood behind. That tearing is the honest part. Everything is measured on your own device, and the photograph is never uploaded.
